Åse-Marie Nesse

Åse-Marie Nesse ( 29 April 1934 – 13 July 2001) was a Norwegian philologist, translator and poet.

[1] Åse-Marie Nesse was born in Klepp, in Rogaland county, Norway.

She also translated from English, Spanish, Dutch and French, and often had to employ poetic reproduction.

She chaired the Norwegian branch of International PEN for many years, and was a member of the Arts Council Norway.

She was decorated with the Federal Cross of Merit in 1993 and the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav (Knight First Class) in 2001.
