İstiklal, Seyhan

İstiklal is a historical neighbourhood (mahalle) in the Seyhan district of Adana Province,[1] and has a of population is 6,137 (2022).

İstiklal is the former Greek neighborhood of Adana, that developed around the first railway station that had opened in 1886 and led to the expansion of the city to the west.

Once a manufacturing zone of Adana, the neighborhood was home to Turkey's first textile factories.

Şakirpaşa railway station is 2 km northwest of the neighborhood, one block north of the D400 State road.
