The results were 68.4% European (Pākehā); 6.1% Māori; 3.1% Pasifika; 27.2% Asian; 3.4% Middle Eastern, Latin American and African New Zealanders (MELAA); and 1.7% other, which includes people giving their ethnicity as "New Zealander".
The percentage of people born overseas was 40.8, compared with 28.8% nationally.
[5] Of those at least 15 years old, 36,147 (49.9%) people had a bachelor's or higher degree, 25,503 (35.2%) had a post-high school certificate or diploma, and 10,782 (14.9%) people exclusively held high school qualifications.
