Šatov (German: Schattau) is a market town in Znojmo District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.
According to local legend, the village was named in honour of Queen Svatava (also called Šatava).
In 1600, Šatov was acquired by the Berka of Dubá family and annexed to the Jaroslavice estate.
The chapel with a Gothic core and preserved Romanesque fragment is the oldest building in Šatov.
[6][7] The historic centre of Šatov is well preserved and is protected by law as a village monument zone.
