100th Rifle Division (Soviet Union)

World War II Ivan Russiyanov The 100th Rifle Division was an infantry division of the Soviet Union's Red Army during World War II, formed twice.

In November 1923 in the Belaya Tserkov area of the Ukrainian Military District, the 45th Territorial Rifle Division was established.

The second formation of the division began forming at Kushchuba station in Vologda Oblast on 5 February 1942.

It was awarded the honorific "Lviv" for its part in the capture of that city during July 1944.
