The 114th Ohio Infantry was organized at Camp Circleville in Circleville, Ohio, and mustered in for three years service on September 11, 1862, under the command of Colonel John Cradlebaugh.
The regiment was attached to 2nd Brigade, 9th Division, Right Wing XIII Corps (Old), Department of the Tennessee, to December 1862.
