State voters chose eight electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.
Wisconsin would be won by the National Union Party candidate, incumbent Republican President Abraham Lincoln and his running mate Andrew Johnson.
Lincoln won the state by a margin of 13.20%.
This was the last election until 1912 in which a Democrat carried Lafayette County.
