Two British comics fans, Mike Conroy and Richard Burton, create the Eagle Awards, named after the long-running Brish comic title Eagle.
The first set of awards are presented in 1977 at Comicon '77 for comics published in 1976: Blitzkrieg DC Super Stars: mostly reprint title.
