The Queen's Birthday Honours 1980 were appointments in many of the Commonwealth realms of Queen Elizabeth II to various orders and honours to reward and highlight good works by citizens of those countries.
The appointments were made to celebrate the official birthday of the Queen.
They were published on 13 June 1980 for the United Kingdom and Colonies,[1] Australia,[2] New Zealand,[3] Mauritius,[4] Fiji,[5] Bahamas,[6] Papua New Guinea,[7] Solomon Islands,[8] Tuvalu,[9] Saint Lucia,[10] and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
[11] The recipients of honours are displayed here as they were styled before their new honour, and arranged by honour, with classes (Knight, Knight Grand Cross, etc.)
The Queen's Birthday Honours for Australia were announced on 14 June 1980, and included appointments to the Order of Australia, Order of the Bath, Order of St Michael and St George and Order of the British Empire, as well as awards of the British Empire Medal, Queen's Police Medal, Royal Red Cross, Air Force Cross, Air Force Medal and Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service in the Air.
