The 1980 Murray State Racers football team represented Murray State University during the 1980 NCAA Division I-AA football season.
Led by third-year head coach Mike Gottfried, the Racers compiled an overall record of 9–2 with a mark of 5–2 on conference play, and finished tied for second in the OVC.
