Local golfers Mark McNulty, Gavan Levenson, and Tony Johnstone had much success at the beginning of the season.

[6] At the final event of the year, the Swazi Sun Pro-Am, American Rick Hartmann defeated Teddy Webber by one shot.

The Order of Merit was based on prize money won during the season, calculated in South African rand.
