The 1983 Boise State Broncos football team represented Boise State University as a member of Big Sky Conference during the 1983 NCAA Division I-AA football season.
Led by first-year head coach Lyle Setencich, the Broncos compiled an overall record of 6–5 with a mark of 4–3 in conference play, tying for third place in the Big Sky.
Prior to the season in January, seven-year head coach Jim Criner left for Iowa State University.
[1] Defensive coordinator Setencich was soon promoted to head coach.
