The 1986 Howard Bison football team represented Howard University as a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) during the 1986 NCAA Division I-AA football season.
Led by third-year head coach Willie Jeffries, the Bison compiled an overall record of 8–3, with a mark of 3–2 in conference play, and finished tied for second in the MEAC.
