The 1986 Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils football team represented Mississippi Valley State University as a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the 1986 NCAA Division I-AA football season.
Led by seventh-year head coach Archie Cooley, the Delta Devils compiled an overall record of 4–4–1, with a conference record of 3–3–1, and finished fifth in the SWAC.
