The 1989 Western Carolina Catamounts team was an American football team that represented Western Carolina University as a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon) during the 1989 NCAA Division I-AA football season.
In their first year under head coach Dale Strahm, the team compiled an overall record of 3–7–1, with a mark of 1–4–1 in conference play, and finished tied for sixth in the SoCon.
