1994 Wimbledon Championships – Women's singles

Conchita Martínez defeated Martina Navratilova in the final, 6–4, 3–6, 6–3 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 1994 Wimbledon Championships.

Steffi Graf was the three-time defending champion, but lost in the first round to Lori McNeil, ending her streak of 31 consecutive major quarterfinals, dating back to the 1985 US Open.

One of the biggest upsets in tennis history, this marked the first time in the Open Era that a defending major champion lost in the first round of their title defence.
