The 1996 Colorado State Rams football team represented Colorado State University as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) during the 1996 NCAA Division I-A football season.
Led by fourth-year head coach Sonny Lubick, the Rams compiled an overall record of 7–5 with a mark of 6–2 in conference play, tying for second place in the WAC's Mountain Division.
Colorado State played home games at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado.
