The 1996 UEFA European Under-16 Championship was the 14th edition of the UEFA's European Under-16 Football Championship.

Players born on or after 1 August 1979 were eligible to participate in this competition.

Austria hosted the event, during 29 April – 11 May 1996.

Portugal was the first team to win the title two consecutive seasons (1995, 1996).

Spain became the second team to repeat the achievement (2007 and 2008).
