The 1997 German Open was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 8 and 14 December 1997 at the Atlantis Rheinhotel in Bingen am Rhein, Germany.
It was the third edition of the tournament, with 16 players competing in the final stage.
Ronnie O'Sullivan beat Tony Drago by the same score after fluking the final black.
Ken Doherty also beat Jamie Burnett in the final frame, having been 1–3 down.
