2000 Vuelta a España

The 55th edition of the Vuelta a España (Tour of Spain), a long-distance bicycle stage race and one of the three grand tours, was held from 26 August to 17 September 2000.

It consisted of 21 stages covering a total of 2,904 km (1,804 mi), and was won by Roberto Heras of the Kelme–Costa Blanca cycling team.

The defending champion, Jan Ullrich, withdrew after the 12th stage while sitting in fourth place to prepare for the Olympic Road Race.
