The 2004–05 Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball team represented Ohio State University in the 2004–05 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.

They were led by their first-year head coach, Thad Matta, and played their home game at the Value City Arena, in Columbus, Ohio as members of the Big Ten Conference.

The Buckeyes finished the season 20-12, 8-8 in Big Ten play.

They defeated Penn State in the first round before losing to Wisconsin in the quarterfinals.
