Cécile de France hosted the opening and closing ceremonies.

[3] Belgian filmmakers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, the Dardenne brothers, won the Palme d'Or for the second time with the drama film L'Enfant.

[4][5][6] The festival opening film was Lemming directed by Dominik Moll,[7] while Chromophobia directed by Martha Fiennes was the closing film.
