The 2006 European Swimming Championships were held in Budapest, Hungary, from 26 July – 6 August 2006.

European Water Polo Championships for 2006 were also organized by LEN, but held separately.

[1][2] All swimming events contested in a long-course (50m) pool; with morning sessions (preliminary heats) beginning at 09:30, and evening sessions (semifinals and finals) beginning at 17:00.
