In October 2007, quarterback Anthony Calvillo's wife was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's cancer of the lymph glands or nodes; Calvillo took indefinite leave of absence from the team to be with his wife.

The Alouettes appeared in the East Semi-Final with backup quarterback Marcus Brady, losing to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and putting an end to a disappointing season.
