EuroBasket 2009

The competition served as a qualification tournament for the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey.

The four teams to make the semi-finals, plus France and Croatia claimed the six European qualifying places for the 2010 FIBA World Championship.

The first six teams took part in an additional qualifying round, held from 5 to 30 August 2009, the winner of which secured the last ticket for the final tournament.
