2009 Liechtenstein general election

The Patriotic Union (VU) won a majority of thirteen seats, with the Progressive Citizens' Party (FBP) winning eleven.

The Free List (FL) won one seat.

[1] Incumbent Prime Minister of Liechtenstein Otmar Hasler sought a third term, and was re-nominated by the FBP on 4 October 2008.

[3] Following the election, Hasler resigned and the two parties entered into a renewed coalition government under Tschütscher.

Only parties and lists with more than 8% of the votes cast in each constituency were eligible to win seats in the Landtag.
