The previous season the Saints finished 7th, failing to qualify for any European Competition.

When the 2009 season finished, St Pats underwent a revamp.

On 9 December Pete Mahon was appointed manager after successfully leading the Saints out of relegation trouble last season.

[1] Pete Mahon signed 13 players during pre-season, creating a good deal of excitement amongst the fans.

[2] Nissan were announced as the new main sponsors of the club after the deal with Paddy Power ran out.
