Starting in February 2013, the top teams of the league played down for the Russell Cup, emblematic of the grand championship of the GMHL.
The Bradford Rattlers won their third regular season title with a perfect record of 42 wins and no losses.
With a 14 win, 2 loss record, the Rattlers also won their third Russell Cup as league playoff champions with a 4-games-to-2 victory over the Temiscaming Titans.
