2012 WAFF Championship

The 2012 WAFF Championship was the 7th WAFF Championship, an international tournament for member nations of the West Asian Football Federation.

The tournament was won by Syria for the first time.

Kuwait (100) Host & Holder Iran (54) Iraq (78) Jordan (87) Oman (93) Saudi Arabia (105) Lebanon (112) Bahrain (124) Syria (148) Palestine (151) Yemen (152) Qatar and  United Arab Emirates did not enter.

At the end of the group stage, a comparison will be made between the second-placed teams of each group.

The best second-placed team advance to the semifinals.
