The competition was organised and held by the Professional Darts Corporation, with the 2013 edition having a prize fund over £200,000.

Phil Taylor was the defending champion and won his fourth Championship League title with a 6–3 defeat over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

He also hit a nine-dart finish during a 6–5 league stage defeat to Adrian Lewis.

Mervyn King and Michael van Gerwen threw nine-dart finishes during the day.
