The Gators competed in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

They played their home games at Alfred A. McKethan Stadium on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus.

The Gators entered the season hoping to build upon their performance in the 2014 NCAA tournament, where they were eliminated after consecutive losses to the College of Charleston and North Carolina.
