This was the last season the team played at the Illovszky Rudolf Stadion built in 1960, before it is finally demolished to make room for the new ground.
In the second half of the season, the club played their home games at Újpest's Szusza Ferenc Stadion.
[2] The team fought with Honvéd and Videoton for the title, which they finally had to relinquish due to the defeat against Paks in the 30th round.
[3] After 11 years, they also reached their 8th Magyar Kupa final, where they lost the match 5–4 on penalties following a 1–1 draw after extra time against Ferencváros.
