2016 European Darts Matchplay

The tournament takes place at Inselparkhalle in Hamburg, Germany, between 13–15 May 2016.

It featured a field of 48 players and £115,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner.

Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion, but he lost in the semi-finals to the winner of the tournament, James Wade, who defeated Dave Chisnall 6–5 in the final.

[1] The prize money of the European Tour events stays the same as last year.

[2] The top 16 players from the PDC ProTour Order of Merit Archived 2012-12-05 at archive.today on 4 March automatically qualified for the event and were seeded in the second round.
