2016 Major League Baseball Home Run Derby

The derby was held on July 11, 2016, at Petco Park in San Diego, California, the site of the 2016 MLB All-Star Game.

[1] Giancarlo Stanton won the Home Run Derby by defeating defending champion Todd Frazier 20–13.

Hitters were awarded an additional 30 seconds if they hit two home runs over 440 feet (130 m).

The eight competing players were seeded 1-8 based on their home run totals.

In the event of a tie, the two hitters competed in a one-minute swing-off (with no timeouts nor bonus time awarded).
