[4] The mayors (Danish: Borgmester; plural: Borgmestre) of the 98 municipalities heads the council meetings and is the chairman of the finance committee in each of their respective municipalities.

The final decision on who would be mayor had to be made by the municipal councils no later than Friday, 15 December 2017.
