The tournament was hosted by Nepal from 18 to 27 of August, 2017 at ANFA Complex, Satdobato and Halchowk Stadium.

Six teams from the region took part, divided into two groups.

[1] On July 10, 2017, a tournament draw ceremony was held in the conference room of the Bangladesh Football Federation.

SAFF general secretary Anwarul Haque Helal and BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag were among those present.

[2] Players born on or after 1 January 2002 were eligible to compete in the tournament.
