Maria Sharapova defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final, 7–5, 7–6(10–8) to win the singles tennis title at the 2017 Tianjin Open.

It was Sharapova's first title since serving a suspension for a doping offense, and her final career title before retiring in 2020.

Peng Shuai was the defending champion, but lost in the semifinals to Sharapova.
