Both the men's and the women's events took place at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California, United States from March 5 through March 18, 2018, on outdoor hard courts.

For the first time ever, tournament organisers offered a $1,000,000 reward to any player, male or female, who wins both singles and doubles titles in the same year.
