2018 Sibiu Cycling Tour

There were two stages on the final day including the return of the team time trial.

Raced over a technical 2.2 km (1.4 mi) with 20 corners and several cobbled sections, the stage was won by Italian Davide Ballerini who would be the only rider to finish in under 3 minutes.

With five kilometres remaining in the stage Iván Sosa attacked a depleted peloton of 15-20 riders.

Initially, two riders, Maxim Rusnac and Amaro Antunes remained with him, but with a second attack he shook off the other contenders and rode to a solo victory.

Despite setting off in bright conditions, after 125 km (78 mi) the race was engulfed by a storm that saw rain, hail, thunder and lightning, with visibility at less than 20 metres and with police unable to maintain road closures.

The most important is the general classification, which is calculated by adding each cyclist's finishing times on each stage.
