The season started on 3 October 2019 and played its last games on 6 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On 12 March 2020, Euroleague Basketball temporarily suspended its competitions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On 5 July 2018, Euroleague Basketball agreed expand the competition to 18 teams, with the allocation of two-year wild cards to German Bayern Munich and French LDLC ASVEL.
