With 307 home runs by their hitters, the Twins also set a new major league record for most home runs by a team in a season; tied by the 2023 Atlanta Braves.

They opened the playoffs by playing the New York Yankees in the ALDS, however they were swept 3 games to 0 in a best-of-5 series, extending their record for the longest playoff losing streak in MLB history to 16 games.
