On 10 August, the club announced a pre-season friendly against Southern League Premier Division Central side Nuneaton Borough which would be played at the New Bucks Head ground, the home of AFC Telford United.

All of the club's pre-season games would be played behind closed doors due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

[44] The third round draw was made on 30 November, with Premier League and EFL Championship all entering the competition.
