The Blue Devils played their home games at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina, as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

They defeated Syracuse and Miami in the ACC tournament before losing to Virginia Tech in the championship game.

There they met rival North Carolina for the first time in an NCAA tournament game.

In coach Mike Krzyzewsk's final game, the Blue Devils lost to the Tar Heels.

Associate head coach Jon Scheyer was named as his replacement.
