Before the start of the season, East Bengal and Shree Cement's joint venture was terminated, and the club inked a new partnership with Emami as their principal investor in August.

Cleiton scored the winner late in the game as East Bengal won their fourth match of the campaign and completed a league double over Bengaluru this season.
