Soon after the Russian forces were repelled from the northern Ukraine and Kyiv areas, it was announced that the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) would encourage clubs to restart the season.
The second-tier competition last organized in a multi group format following a hiatus the very first championship in 1992.

If players of the clubs would be called to the national teams, games will be moved to June 8 and 12.
Mariupol's relegation was reversed following withdrawals of Lviv and Skoruk Tomakivka.
