The 9th edition of this tournament was originally scheduled to take place from 15 to 26 August 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic,[1][2][3] and then finally cancelled.

[5] The top five teams qualified for the 2023 Men's Youth World Handball Championship in Croatia.

[6] Following 11 teams intended to participate in the championship.

The draw was held on Wednesday, 8 June 2022 at 19:30 at the Millennium Hotel and Convention Centre, Salmiya, Kuwait.
