His sister Guada Golez was initially named to run in his place,[2] but his party later nominated Second District Councilor Vincent Kenneth "Binky" Favis.

Favis faced his fellow councilors, Joan Villafuerte-Densing and Maritess "Tess" de Asis from first and second district respectively.
