The 2022 Stanford Cardinal football team represented Stanford University in the Pac-12 Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season.

Led by twelfth-year head coach David Shaw, the Cardinal was 3–9 (1–8 in Pac-12, eleventh) and played home games on campus at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California.

E. J. Smith, son of all-time leading rusher in National Football League (NFL) history, Emmitt Smith, was the team's top running back.

It was Stanford's second straight season at 3–9; just over an hour after the season finale, a home loss to BYU on November 26, Shaw resigned effective immediately.
