For parties to receive any representation in the Landtag, they must either win at least one seat in a constituency directly, or clear a 5 percent state-wide electoral threshold.
The election campaign was primarily impacted by the retirement of longtime governor Günther Platter and the questionable management of the state during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in Ischgl and following events.
