2022 US Open – Women's singles

Iga Świątek defeated Ons Jabeur in the final, 6–2, 7–6(7–5) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 US Open.

Świątek was the first player since Angelique Kerber in 2016 to win multiple majors in a season, having also won the 2022 French Open.

[7] With her victory over second-ranked Anett Kontaveit in the second round, Williams became the oldest player to defeat a top-three opponent on the WTA Tour.

This tournament marked the first time in the Open Era that four Chinese women reached the third round of a major.
